Working on a new show is always exciting and for Makeup Department Head Cindy Miguens, the formula for success couldn't be better as her new Freeform show, Famous in Love, stars Bella Thorne, Carter Jenkins, and Perrey Reeves. Created by the TV genius I. Marlene King, who also created a little show you may have heard of by the name of Pretty Little Liars, Cindy has a long history with the show creator as she was also the PLL Makeup Department Head. You could say she has a lot of experience with the hottest young Hollywood talent. Can we say - jealous much?!? From redheads to dark brunettes, Rosa works her magic with the help of her team to create the perfect coiffed hairstyle and color maintenance while also preserving the nostalgic look of the original Archie Comics characters. Here, we chat with her about working on a new show based off of her childhood fave comic books, what her creative approach was for creating the hair looks, and a little secret on touching up those neglected roots.

TVLand’s Younger is the show that we’d all like to live vicariously through (er, those of us in our 40’s and older). Perhaps it’s even become ourSATC replacement with the show boasting creator Darren Star and legendary Costume Consultant Pat Field. The show is based around Liza (played by broadway veteran Sutton Foster), a 40-year-old posing as a twenty-something while attempting to get her foot back in the door of the publishing world after taking time off to raise her teen daughter. We just had to find out how Liza maintains her outward youth, so we asked Hair Department Head Anne Marie Bradley and Makeup Department Head Eldo Ray Estes to divulge. Of course, we also got the scoop on what it’s like working on such a fun show, how they stay “on-trend” with looks, and what’s in their set bags.

He is Maria Menounous’ Greek Hair God…Meet Celebrity Hair Stylist Dimitris Giannetos

A recent transplant from Greece, Celebrity Hair Stylist Dimitris Giannetos has already taken LA by storm. He currently works closely with fellow Greek client, TV host Maria Menounous, and recently landed jobs with the pop group Fifth Harmony and singer Carly Rae Jepsen for her latest video, “I Really Like You.” As a young kid in Greece, Dimitris always knew that he wanted to be a hair stylist. He even played around with his mother and sister’s hair to try and replicate styles that his mother’s hairdresser would create. When he finally got his start in the industry, he admired Guido Palau (british-born, iconic hair stylist) and continues to find inspiration in his work. We chatted it up with Dimitris to find out how he landed in LA, how he fulfilled his Hollywood dream (ahem – finding an agent!) and what he loves about working with Maria Menounous.

She built up a home-based clientele, got her certification from the West Valley Occupational Center in Woodland Hills, CA, and would go on to build a celebrity client base in both TV and Film. Having worked with clients such as Hilary Swank, Jennifer Garner and Naomi Watts, there’s never a dull moment for Tracey. Having worked on Wall Street for ten years in New York, Sarah headed west to make a big career change. While scared at the same time to start her own business, Sarah’s love for the beauty industry made her excited about her new venture.

A Zen Moment with Shiva Rose

Living holistic and healthy is a lifestyle for The Local Rose’s Shiva Rose. After fleeing her homeland of Iran after the revolution, she spent her childhood as a refugee, trying to assimilate into a new life. Even at a young age, she understood her own spiritual connection to nature after she saw a tree cut down and cried for hours. At the age of 26, she gave birth to her first child and was diagnosed with a life-threatening auto-immune condition. In trying to treat her affliction, she found that Western medicine wasn’t working for her, and made the choice to completely switch up her diet and way of living to holistic and natural. Rose explains, “I turned to my passion in life when my marriage dissolved and I needed solace. I created the blog The Local Rose, moved to be closer to the wild and made sure to spend time in forests and the ocean.” We got the lowdown on what her natural skin remedies are, what her beauty routine is and why we really are what we eat.
