Working on a new show is always exciting and for Makeup Department Head Cindy Miguens, the formula for success couldn't be better as her new Freeform show, Famous in Love, stars Bella Thorne, Carter Jenkins, and Perrey Reeves. Created by the TV genius I. Marlene King, who also created a little show you may have heard of by the name of Pretty Little Liars, Cindy has a long history with the show creator as she was also the PLL Makeup Department Head. You could say she has a lot of experience with the hottest young Hollywood talent. Can we say - jealous much?!? With a busy schedule, we asked Cindy a few questions on how she helps achieve those Hollywood tears, the clean-up needed after an emotional scene, and what's in her set bag.

Famous in Love has such a gorgeous cast! How do you manage working with such beauties every single day?
As with many teen dramas, there are a lot of scenes with tears. How do you freshen the makeup quickly take after take?  It all depends on when the tears begin. On the scenes where actors need to cry, if it starts at the beginning of a scene, then we add redness under the eyes and a little on and under the nose to help create the look. To freshen the look after each take, we either leave the actors to get back in the mood, or assist with creating tears by using a trick with a menthol blower or by directly adding tears with eye drops. Most actors create their tears by digging deep. Bella is one of those actors who can cry on demand. If the tears start in the middle of the scene,  then we have to quickly go in and freshen up their face by wiping away any tear streaks and add concealer.

Let’s be honest, there are a lot of good looking dudes on the show. How much do they love having makeup put on? Any funny stories to divulge?
Our male actors are the sweetest and don't mind having makeup put on because it just enhances their looks even more. No funny stories to divulge, besides whatever happens in the makeup trailer stays in the makeup trailer. :)

What are five beauty staples we’d find in your set bag?
Wet Ines, tissues, eye drops, lotion, and hand sanitizer.
