A Survival Guide To Coachella

It’s Coachella season again, and we’ve got a list of your must-have products to survive two weekends full of sun, fun and, well, recovering! From protecting your skin to re-energizing after a long night of partying, these are the products you are not going to want to leave home without.

FACE

Let’s face it – you’re in the desert heat. There’s no point in putting on a thick layer of foundation just to sweat it off in a second. Your best bet is to go with Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 ($44) which provides a nice, sheer coverage and built-in sunscreen to protect your face.

To freshen up the cheeks and give them a pop of color while soaking up any extra oil on your face, use Mai Couture’s Blotting Papier ($17.50). They’re small, compact and perfect for a small purse.

Don’t forget to protect your lips! Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream Nourishing Lip Balm ($21) is the bomb as it contains SPF 20. It moisturizes, protects against UVA and UVB rays and leaves lips soft and kissable.

HAIR

Your hair is bound to get wind blown and full of knots. Enter your new best friend, Tangle Teezer Compact Styler ($20). This small brush fits into the palm of your hand and will get out any knots and rats in seconds. It also has a cover to keep out dirt and fits perfectly in a small handbag.

BODY

As for the skin, you pretty much want to douse it with sunscreen and Australian Gold’s Sheer Coverage Continuous Spray ($9.49). It comes in SPF 30 and SPF 50 and even if you're not as naturally tan as you’d like to be, don’t worry! It contains Kona Coffee Bronzers to instantly give you a sun-kissed glow.

MORNING AFTER

Let’s just say there might be a morning or two when it just plain hurts to wake up. One surefire product to use that will cure unpleasant dark circles and puffy eyes is Peter Thomas Roth’s Cucumber De-Tox De-Puffing Eye-Cubes ($50). Just be sure to pop these babies in the freezer the night before and you’re good to go. When you’re ready to apply, pop the cubes into a gauze pouch, then massage around the eyes. This unique formula contains cucumber extract, aloe vera, arnica and caffeine – all components that will make you feel festival-ready in minutes.

And if you’re body is saying “No, No, No” – add a packet of Aloha Daily Good Greens ($19 for 6 packets) to your bottled water to instantly feel refreshed. This little packet is filled to the brim with 14 hand-selected whole foods designed to detoxify the body, energize and hydrate the system.

HANDBAG

And finally, your entire survival kit should fit nicely in The Greta ($150) by Shaffer. This petite, crossbody bucket bag is made out of leather and comes in a fun range of colors for whatever mood (or musical taste) suits you.
